NEC Determines Order of Parties on July Ballot

PHNOM PENH: The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced the order that parties will be listed on the ballot for the general elections in July. Per tradition, the order is randomized as committee members draw names out of a box to determine who will appear where on the ballot.

The results of the lottery on the morning of May 29, 2023 show that the Beehive Social Democratic Party will be listed first while the Cambodian People's Party will appear last, as number 18.

The 7th National Assembly Election will be held on July 23, 2023, with 18 political parties registered by the NEC. Meanwhile two political parties, the Candlelight Party and the Khmer National United Party, were rejected by the NEC due to lack of documentation.
